Additional admission requirements

In addition to passing an artistic admission test, there are also diploma requirements. Furthermore, for students from outside the Flemish Community, additional language requirements apply. Browse through the information here.

General diploma requirements

The general admission requirement for the bachelor's programmes and the graduate programme is a Flemish secondary education diploma. Diplomas from abroad must always be assessed by the academic advisor (katrien.fauville@ehb.be).

Already have a diploma and want to start a master's programme?

Bridging Programmes

A bridging programme is designed for students who have obtained a professional bachelor's degree and wish to pursue an academic master's programme. This programme ensures that they can start a master's degree with the same foundational knowledge as academic bachelor graduates. RITCS offers a bridging programme specifically for the Bachelor in Audiovisual Arts: Writing and Radio.

The bridging programme consists of 45 to 90 study credits, which can be reduced depending on the student's prior education. No fixed pathway has been developed; each application is reviewed individually.

To be eligible for a bridging programme, you must first pass the artistic entrance exam. More information about the admission tests can be found here.

Preparatory Programmes

A preparatory programme is intended for students with an academic bachelor's or master's degree who wish to begin a master's programme. This programme enables them to start the master's degree with the same foundational knowledge as those directly admitted with an academic bachelor's degree.

No fixed pathway has been developed for related academic diplomas; each application is reviewed individually. A preparatory programme leads to a specific certificate but does not confer an academic degree or diploma.

RITCS offers a preparatory programme specifically for the Academic Bachelor in Audiovisual Arts: Writing and Radio.

Language requirements

If you are a non-native student wishing to start at RITCS School of Arts, we are happy to provide you with the necessary information regarding our language policy. Students enrolling in a programme, course, or module where the language of instruction is Dutch must present proof of their proficiency in Dutch at the time of enrolment. Proof of sufficient knowledge of Dutch as the language of instruction is automatically provided for prospective students who meet one of the following conditions:

- You have obtained a diploma from secondary or higher education where Dutch was the language of instruction.
- You have successfully completed at least one year of secondary education with Dutch as the language of instruction.
- You have passed courses in higher education conducted in Dutch, amounting to a total of at least 54 study credits.

If you do not meet these criteria or do not possess any of these certificates, you can still begin your studies at RITCS. However, you will need to present the necessary language certificates to the student administration office. There are two possible pathways for this: the B2 pathway and the threshold pathway.

Residence requirements

To start at RITCS, you must possess an identity card or a valid residence permit.
